This past year has been tough, students have had to work at home for over a year. There have been so many harsh images of both the  COVID virus and the Delta Variant. Silver Oak Elementary Fifth graders have a trip to the science camp, where they stay for 5 days and learn about nature through many hands-on projects.

I was part of the 5th grade last year, and it was devastating to learn that we could not go on the trip. Every kid from about third grade starts to get excited about the trip. After we did online Walden West, we learned that our principal would decide over the summer if we would go during 6th grade. 

As the school year has started, we want to know the final decision. All the teachers had informed us we would find out by the end of summer. But now, the school has started, and we will hope it's a yes.
