A number of complaints have been raised by residents living in Nursery Road, Nursery Close, St Christophers Road and Elstob Place.

They highlight issues facing older people trying to cross from one side of Silksworth Lane to the other, this is required to access the local shops and bus stop.

This petition is to request Sunderland City Council, investigate and consult residents on a suitable location for a crossing, this could be either Pelican or Puffing Crossing controlled by traffic lights.

The benefit of such a crossing is that it will not significantly impact traffic as it will only operate if someone needs to cross the road.
