They provide a service to new mums that cannot be given elsewhere. A real home from home environment that I tired & cares for families at a crucial stage of life. Without these ladies I would have been lost struggling to deal with post labour anxieties, new baby issues, breast feeding advice, a friendly face at 3am coming in to see if you’re okay with tea & scones. The best a girl could ask for when away from family xxx

Lumsden has a huge catchment area of women. To give them no option but to travel HOURS to get to a primary unit is barbaric. The anticipation of having your Baby is stress enough. Studies show that stress is a significant factor in birth complications. Lowered stress = Positive Labour Experience.

I'm signing because all parents in rural communities need as much help as they can get to keep themselves and their babies safe during pregnancy and childbirth. Not to mention how isolated they are and the weather is not great at times.
