It is important that residents and tourists to the area maintain this freedom, as this is what creates the unique environment of Inverloch. Universally people are being encouraged to be outdoors and be active and Inverloch residents enjoy walking on the beach daily with their dogs. The shared passion of walking your dog on the beach opens up communication between residents and strangers alike and this creates a friendly community. Instead of valuing the attraction of this uniqueness, Bass Coast Shire Council is actively attacking the fabric of the community by implementing this law. People return again and again from all over Victoria to enjoy the unique freedom of family and pets spending time on the beaches together. The time constraints the Bass Coast Shire are enforcing are totally unnecessary and its dictatorial behaviour is unethical. The councillors need to listen to the people who elected them. The recent survey ( a survey conducted at great expense to rate payers) supported the desire for off lead dog beach areas and yet Bass Coast Shire Council are choosing to totally ignore the facts of its own survey.
