SIGN THE PETITION: We OPPOSE a Dog Park in Longbrook!

Are you aware that a DOG PARK is dangerously close to being approved in our cherished Longbrook Park? Over the past few months, a Dog Park Sub Committee has been reviewing a number of potential sites for an official dog park in Stratford.
While most of us agree, Stratford DOES deserve a Dog Park, many of us DO NOT AGREE that Longbrook Park is the most suitable location!
Why use up the last of the green space? The proposed location is the same area that local families use to host an annual Easter Egg Hunt, the same area used by many children to come and go from school, and right at the bottom of an amazing sledding hill.
This is also the same part of the park that is home to the practice field for Stratford Pop Warner Football, and across from Stratford High's Penders Field. Longbrook is currently the host to MANY town Summer Programs, Sports Camps, Splash Pad, and Vicki Soto Playground.
As it is, even on a quiet day, traffic, illegal parking, litter/trash, and the sanitary conditions of the public restrooms are a major problem. Do we really need more of the side streets clogged and congested? Doesn't this alone pose as a major safety hazard to the people that come to enjoy Longbrook? This is a centrally located park, that is utilized by ALL of Stratford Residents, not just the neighboring homes.
Stratford residents, Please sign NO, to help us preserve the green space and protect our cherished Longbrook Park!
