In India, 6.3% people are suffering from Significant Auditory Impairment. This leaves them with sign language as their mother tongue. Learning of sign language should be mandatory at secondary education to enable everyone to understand the language and not treat them as foreigners. All of us should be enabled to understand and have basic communication, while treating the impaired people equal, rather than someone with special needs.
