Your signature is needed to stop race discrimination in the London Borough of Haringey, where the council plans to extend Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) for 3 more years. We have until 17.08.2020 to say no.
There is no evidence to suggest that street drinking per square metre of public space is any more prevalent in black neighbourhoods than in white neighbourhoods. This policy is discriminatory and a breach of the Equality Act 2010.
The police already have extensive powers to deal with anti-social behaviour - more
powers are not needed, especially as black people are 300% more likely to be arrested and 600% more likely to have force used on them by the police. (New Statesman)
There are no PSPOs in the following neighbourhoods:
- Alexandra
- Crouch End
- Fortis Green
