The Brebeuf Jesuit right to life club has shared a series of racially targeted, racially unjust, and incorrect information. The account backed by the school has utilized slavery and the abolitionist movement as a historical “analogy” for their movement and “morals”. This “analogy” is inappropriate and racist. The suggestion that the exploitation, mutilation, and abuse of the African American people all for the sole ECONOMIC gain of American colonists is similar to their attempt to take away womens bodily autonomy is disgusting, misleading, and racist. The page has also reposted a series of “facts” stating that minority women specifically black women are not put at more risk with the overturning of roe v wade. It is a fact that African American women are 3 times more likely to die during childbirth in America due soley to racist biases permitted in the American healthcare system. The sharing of ideas that these women are not disproportionally effected by this bill is unethical and once again racist. The school has been made aware of this activity multiple times this past week, but has still failed to do anything to solve or even address this problem. The signing of this petition will show the school that Brebeuf student are not willing to have their schools name tainted by this mean- spirited, false, and racially unjust behavior.
