In signing this petition while I don’t belittle the behaviour but I do realise this community has been hurt and discriminated against.

I think India should respect and recognize the rights of all individuals to live and love their partners be it a man or a woman.

I think all people in India should have equal rights in front of the constitution. Being a sexually minority youth makes my life hard in this society. Im a law student. I hope soon i will get my rights in this nation to marry the boy whom im loving the most.

In a country known for its tolerance, it is surprising that people, especially homosexuals, who are different from others being put in jail for being who they are. They were created so by nature and they have no say in deciding who they like. Their response to who they like is purely biological and I believe that the Justice bench is broad-minded and wise enough to understand this and take a progressive decision in this matter. These people also have right to live as freely as heterosexuals.

It really baffles me and many others that they - and others who share what the law calls "unnatural" coitus - spend 10 years in jail while rapists are imprisoned for only 7 years. The only "mistake" these people do is ask for consent. Is that wrong?

I hope that our country shows the tolerance it is known for when it is actually needed and to those who need it.

Equality is a beautiful thing. To judge another human based on human emotions is just an example of Ill mind some folks are.

Doing my internship in Delhi and I feel other LGBT's should have the same rights as I have in the Netherlands.
I feel sad that mainly Western Europeans have the 'privileges' we have. But I'm proud that my parents invite my boyfriend 'behind my back' to spend Christmas with them, as I am in India! Hope the situation for Indians will become the same.

There is reason that when we look back in our history, we celebrate those who fought for equality and denounce those who helped suppress it. Which of history will modern day India be on? I hope we will celebrate, not denounce.
