Haryana govt plans to make my taxi ride a lot more expensive. Help me stop that!

On the 1st of April this year, the Haryana Government increased the entry tax for commercial cars by an incomprehensible 1000%, resulting in drivers having to pay Rs. 100 fees to enter Haryana every single day! Cars with more seats (7 or above) have to pay as high as Rs. 500 per day to enter Haryana..
While the government has gone ahead with this massive increase to boost its coffers, it has completely disregarded the hard-working driver, whose savings get adversely impacted by such prohibitive taxes! As a result, drivers are obviously avoiding entering Haryana, which has resulted in much longer wait times in Gurgaon and Panchkula (the magic of 5 mins Ubers and Olas seems like a dream now) and inconvenience for riders like me (including waiting for hours at the tax collection points). A day not too far away, the cab companies will pass on the tax from the driver (who simply cannot pay this every day!) to me, the customer. I will end up paying much higher for the same trip, because the Haryana Government has simply decided so!
I believe that the Haryana Government should rethink and reduce this tax - it is bad for everyone and will take us backwards by years. Uber and Ola are a blessing to me and my family, and I don’t want to go back to haggling with auto-rickshaws. Alas, I will be left with no choice if the government has its way..
Sign the petition and share this with your friends and family who have been impacted in Gurgaon or Panchkula. Let’s show the Haryana government what the people really want - and let’s hope they listen.
