“BHARAT VANDANA PARK” OF DWARKA SHOULD BE DEVELOPED AS  ECO-FRIENDLY ICONIC THEME PARK

We are given to understand that DDA is now going to develop long awaited prestigious “Bharat Vandana Theme Park’ in Dwarka Sector-20, New Delhi jointly with NBCC. This Theme Park will not only meet the dire need of leisure and recreation facilities in the stressful modern age but, it will also be a regular source of substantial National income including a significant inflow of foreign currency from the visiting international tourists, which becomes more viable with nearby upcoming Conventional Centre and Diplomatic area, so also source of earning and employment to many. The additional exchequer will obviously be utilized in schemes for the good of citizens.

We are also given to understand that few persons together with non-Dwarkaties are fighting for development of natural forest in the name of biodiversity park or so, in place of this Theme Park on the pretext of environmental issues. We vehemently oppose the idea of developing any sort of forest in the area which is in the middle of residential habitat. It is needless to emphasize that in such a condition there is every likelihood of this area becoming a safe heaven for criminals and other anti-social elements making the life of the residents quite dreadful and a risk to bi-passers through the secluded area. A deserted area is supposed to be frightening in itself. Besides, any type of forest will attract birds from far flung areas of the world creating risk to the aircrafts flying from nearby airports.

At the same time, worsening environmental conditions are also a matter of concern and steps for environment safety cannot be ignored. Therefore, we want an Eco-friendly iconic Theme Park with following provisions :

a)       Environmental protection should be equally considered with social and economic development by keeping provision for maximum possible greenery.

b)      At least one forest like adventure park/amusement area should be developed as a measure of environment protection together with fun, to the extent it does not attract birds.

c)       The water body existing in the area should be developed to its best keeping in view restoration of depleting water level to the maximum possible extent.

d)      A zoo type area should also be developed with dense greenery and water resources ensuring survival, safety and security of the wild animals and birds of the area and transforming animal-based attractions through their theming as an educational centre dedicated to ecological sustainability to inculcate interest in public towards wildlife and environment.

IN VIEW OF ABOVE, WE EARNESTLY REQUEST FOR DEVELOPMENT OF ECO-FRIENDLY ICONIC “BHARAT VANDANA THEME PARK” IN DWARKA AND NOT A FOREST IN THE NAME OF BIODIVERSITY PARK OR SO
