The fact that human suburbs are a deer-friendly habitat may be a simple indication that we need to learn to co-exist. When we have even more people on the planet and excessive urban crowding, how will we decide which people to hunt and kill?

Killing deer will not stop Lyme Disease or improve the statistics, it will not stop herbivores from eating tulips, what a stupid, waste of a life..shot over some flowers...in the 16 th century people were murdered over tulips!! This insanity need to stop, they are only tulips!

I am a dedicated animal lover and things like this just make me sick. Why do we use any excuse to willfully kill any animal. We have become a nation of savages.

They killed 100 deer in our town of Hot Springs, SD last year; now 5 miles out we hardly ever see one.... how stupid!

What part of this shooting is reasonable? What pets and/or children will be killed "accidentally"
Who's doing the (non) thinking here? As a former farm girl, I have vivid memories of my dad waking up to find that deer"hunters had sucessfully shot his prize stud bull, a few cows and his cattle dog. No, killing the deer here isn't going to be helpful.

It's ridiculous and idiotic that as we take away the land and homes of animals that they are punished for trying to survive peacefully. It's asinine.

Heartless rich people strike against the helpless yet again. I used to work in Ithaca, so I know whereof I speak.
