Muslims seeking equality and justice in Millburn/Short Hills

As a show of coexistence, respect, and tolerance, please sign this petition so that the Muslim Holiday of Breaking Fast (Eid al-Fitr) is included in the Millburn, NJ school calendar as a day off, as was done in other progressive cities like NYC. Three years ago, the town launched an open process of petitioning, giving equal opportunity for all ethnic/religious groups to request days off the school calendar.  This year, unilateral decisions were made by the Board of Education and Superintendent, including all major ethnicities for their holidays off, but excluding the Muslim holiday (with no open public process). In this time of unfortunate racial divide, let's send a peaceful message that our community is one of inclusion of all races and religions, and that hate has no place in Millburn/Short Hills. (please do not donate if the website makes this auto-request)
