Hello everyone, hope you are doing your best to stay healthy. I’m creating this online petition to ask ShopRite to reserve home delivery times for the elderly and disabled in our communities. I am starting this petition after a conversation I had with my elderly mother. My elderly and disabled parents live in New Jersey about an hour and 20 minutes from my house. She explained to me that she needed to have groceries delivered but could not obtain a time slot for online delivery from ShopRite. Instacart was also not able to accommodate home delivery for her for quite a few days. Although I understand that ShopRite has reserved times for the elderly to shop in store  (which is quite early) My parents are not just elderly but also disabled making it nearly impossible for them to leave their home. I am imploring ShopRite to reserve the first four timeslots on each day of the week, Monday-Friday for home delivery to those who are elderly and or disabled and cannot leave their homes. I am sure that there are things that I cannot think of that would be necessary to facilitate this but I will leave that up to ShopRite. One thing that came to My mind was, how would we know if they were elderly. If they have a price plus card the information gathered for that application would prove that they are elderly. Personally I am an only child, I work in healthcare and cannot come in contact with them, and by the time I would go to the store the items would not be available anyway. My example is not the only example out there. There are many elderly who do not have help. They are scared right now and we need to do anything we can to help them. By ensuring they have a time slot for delivery, ShopRite can do a small part to help until this crisis is over.
