Huskisson Heritage Association Inc. started this petition to Shoalhaven City Councillors and
I have signed this petition to stop the gross over development of the iconic Huskisson Anglican Church Site with its beautiful canopy of trees, National Trust Heritage listed church and graveyard with unmarked European and Indigenous graves. This is a battle to preserve the integrity of Huskisson village and to put heritage before high rise.
Respect must be given to the local Aboriginal people whose ancestors are buried on the site. Overdevelopment will desecrate these and other graves.
We must listen to the voice of the Aboriginal community, their connection to this land is unbroken.
We request that the current planning proposal be rejected.There must be a more sensitive, creative and socially acceptable outcome for the community.
