Stop the release of a dangerous animal back into the community.

On the 25th April 2017, two alpacas were attacked by a pair of dangerous dogs in Oakford, resulting in one tragically being killed. One of the dogs was destroyed on site, however the other was subsequently caught and impounded.
The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale has proposed that the impounded animal be returned to its owners, as it is currently pregnant. The Shire has indicated that the dog will be allowed to remain with its owners until the puppies are birthed and weaned, at which point the offending animal will be destroyed. We believe that the release of this dangerous dog back into the custody of its owners - even temporarily - is completely unacceptable and out of touch with community expectations on how dangerous animals should be controlled.
We are seeking your support to send a clear message to the Shire Officers and Councillors: We expect community safety to be the #1 priority; DO NOT release this animal back to its owners.
