This petition was created in relation to the quality and safety of the Helena Valley Views playground located on the corner Triandra Drive and Darwinia Crescent.

Helena Valley is a hub for young families, with a large number of residents in the estate with children 5 years or under. The playground itself contains a slide and a platformed walkway which offers little appeal in the way of entertainment for young or older children.

There is also no facilities to draw families to the park (eg BBQs, water fountains, picnic benches).

The slide itself, positioned on rocks, has no soft landing to cushion young children who fall straight onto bark chips. Furthermore there is significant safety risks with jagged rocks next to climbing items, collapsing concrete, loose stones and unstable stumps causing potential tripping hazards. 

With your signature we hope to present a petition for improvement. We hope to achieve better quality equipment (up to the standard of parks in the surrounding new estates) that meets the needs of our community.
