Demand SIGA publish their accounts

The Shetland Island Games Association (SIGA) charges amateur sports people over £1300 each to take part in the Island Games and yet they are refusing to publish their accounts.
Amateur sports people representing Shetland have a right to know how their money is being spent. This information should be freely and easily available to them.
No-one is accusing anyone at SIGA of doing anything underhand or illegal but we believe an organisation responsible for spending around £200,000 per Island Games, the vast majority of which has been given to them by amateur sports people who want to represent Shetland, should be open and transparent.
We have been asking to see the accounts from previous Games since February. SIGA have refused to provide this information. This is not acceptable.
For Gotland this year SIGA have said they will only provide "paper accounts" and only to people who attend their next AGM. We can't understand why are they so unwilling to freely share this information.
SIGA's accounts from this and past Games should be made available for download on their website.
