Save McAllister park & stop the city from building more baseball fields &destroying trails
The city wants to give 68 acres of public park land at McAllister Park to Capitol Park Little League for baseball fields for private only use. The city wants to give $2 Million dollars from the 2017 bond program to the Capital Park Little League to build the fields instead of making improvements to trails and facilities inside the park. None of the trails are clearly marked and the public is reduced to portable toilets while the little league that is there now has 2 nice concession areas and clean restrooms with running water.
McAllister Park is already home to McAllister Park Little League who maintains 17 baseball fields inside the park. The league is a private league and the fields are not open to the public. They lock the gate when the fields are not in use and no one is allowed in. We demand the city remove the $2 million dollar bond payment to Capital Park Little League and remove it from the 2017 bond proposal and stop any further development to McAllister Park.
