Make Shenendehowa Schools Safer

I am the mother of a Shenendehowa student who feels the district needs to do more to secure our children while they are in school.  The district has a $174 million budget to work with.  In the past decade, we've funded an aquatic center, stadium upgrades, new field lights and press box, wayfinding signs.  Some of that money could have been used on glass that resists bullets, devices to keep classroom doors shut, etc.  The district has 10,000 students to keep safe but mostly focuses on response drills to such a situation rather than preventative measures to keep a gunman out of the building.  I want all parents feeling secure their child is safe in their classroom.
