Reject high density apt bldgs in residential zones: #20-08 PDD#94. Cedar Village phase 2
Why this petition matters
It is our opinion that:
Application #20-08 PDD#94 uses the PDD(Planned Development District) mechanism as a Trojan Horse to put a high density, 30-unit, apartment development project inside a residential zone in the heart of Shelton.
High density apartment buildings in or around downtown Shelton are definitely not unique, and inside a residential neighborhood are certainly not desirable; which are both requirements to qualify for the use of a PDD.
The increase in traffic, parking issues, and car accidents would exacerbate the problems with pedestrian safety and decrease the quality of life in the area and the market value of properties in the neighborhood.
Please sign here to support this petition to reject application #20-08 PDD#94 and help protect residential neighborhoods from high density apartment projects that are trying to create loopholes to bi-pass requirements that have been established in the planning and zoning regulations for residential developments.
Your prompt action is needed as the next public hearing date is this Wednesday August 5th at 10am at Shelton City Hall. If you can't attend the public hearing, please let your voice be heard by signing this petition or writing directly to the P&Z commission today.
