It is understood that schools need to take precaution due to COVID-19. Instead of splitting up schools by last names , it is better for the students to be split up by grade. Upperclassmen go Monday and Tuesday , and underclassmen Thursday and Friday. Students need to be with their classmates so they can support and help each other during these troubling times. Splitting up kids by last names could be really hard to deal with, we have been with each other since kindergarten! What about the student who only has one friend and their last name is different so they can’t be together? What about students who carpool together and they were relying on each other because their parents have to get to work? What about the seniors who only have a few months left with each other! It is understood that schools want to keep the students safe. Splitting students by grade makes more sense, students to tend to hangout more with people in their own grade , they play more sports together, and are around each other more outside of school. So keeping them together would not let the virus spread as fast. Splitting up kids by grade instead of last name is healthier mentally and physically!
