The road between Findlay and Bethany Illinois has been steadily increasing in traffic, I'm guessing over 200 cars, trucks, and school busses a day, especially since the Moultrie county side was redone a few years ago. People have been ticketed for speeds in excess of 100 MPH on this roadway according to a Moultrie county deputy. The bridge (twin bridges) separates Moultrie, and Shelby county, and the Shelby county side into Findlay is in bad disrepair, almost unsafe to travel the speed limit of 55 MPH, let alone the vehicles going well above that today.

    The two villages of Findlay, and Bethany school districts were consolidated into one, and the children are transported by school bus, and commute themselves back and forth between towns multiple times per day. For four months out of the year, October through January, deer hunting season occurs, and people are parking along this very narrow, busy road many times right up against the bridge, on opposite sides from one another, and their vehicles halfway in the roadway making travel very unsafe in the bottom between towns. When farm equipment, school busses, semis, and normal traffic has to slow down, and dodge into the oncoming lane of traffic to avoid hitting vehicles, and hunters changing their clothes in the roadway, this is a potential disaster waiting to happen. I personally have had deer jump from behind parked vehicles  there, and if timing were different, I would never have seen the deer at all, possibly causing an accident. I have contacted Shelby County about placing no parking signs on the south side of the bridge, and called the Sheriff's department many times about people parking out in the roadway. Nothing has ever been done. Maybe with your help, we can show them we need that roadway fixed like they agreed upon, and no parking signs added to at least try to save a school bus, or an inexperienced student driver from getting into a terrible accident.
