Refund of Tuition fees for 20/21 from Sheffield Hallam University
This year has been difficult for all of us. But this has resulted in the majority of seminars and lectures being held online. Now, I am a final year student and do not want to be disadvantaged by having the final, most important year of my degree online.
The university has cut down on the teaching hours we are recieving, which in our final year this is the opposite of what we want. But we are still paying the same price? The university told us that some teaching would be online and some would be face to face. Currently everything is online and I am 6k out of pocket due to rent which I wouldn't have been paying if the university had been honest with me in the first place about the online teaching as I would've lived at home. The libraries are open but you cannot look for books, you go through the online catalogue, and the ones you do want they don't have. You are unable to meet face to face with student support workers and staff if you have a problem or need to discuss anything. This, along with the cuts to teaching hours do not make this year worth 9,250. We are having less teaching this year but it is virtually all on line, yet, we are paying the same as we have done in previous years - doesn't make sense to me.
