Lee Mullin started this petition

The Leadmill in Sheffield has been an important part of the culture of Sheffield for over 40 years, seeing important local acts like Arctic Monkeys, Pulp and Human League play, as well as many out of town bands who had heard about its iconic status amongst live music fans. It's also a huge part of Sheffield's nightlife scene, hosts comedy, more recently film screenings, and plenty of daytime activities.

Leadmill have just been handed their 1 year notice from their landlord, meaning the Leadmil could be no more in April 2023. The recommended best practical step according to the Music Venues trust who are dealing with this issue up and down the country is to ensure that Sheffield City Council give The Leadmill an "Asset of Community Value" status. For anyone who's seen a favourite gig there, laughed at the comedy, bought a film poster for their student flat, or excitedly got ready for a club night down there, I hope you agree it's worth it. Please sign the petition and share!
