As a student of Sackets Harbor Central School, there has been many people being dress coded. I myself have read the dress code and personally do not agree with it at all. Students should feel comfortable and confident in what they wear, and definitely not to be brought down on what they are wearing. Our learning environment should be a safe and comfortable place for all students. I have no problem with what others wear. Others should not have a problem with what each other wear, if they do they should be removed not the people who are wearing what they are comfortable in. I myself have been dress coded a number of times, i have also been put down for my clothing by adults in our school one stating “what are you thinking?” i was even put in in school suspension for wearing what i feel comfortable in. In my opinion clothing is how you express yourself, your sense of style/clothing should never be judged it does not define you as a person. This petition should be taken seriously and the right decisions should be enforced.
