Shawnee County has seen double digit case increases every day for the last week as well as increased deaths of our citizens. The United States just saw a record 50,000 new cases for July 1st. Dr. Fauci predicts the US will have 100,000 new cases each day if we do not change our behavior. The recommendation for the United States to control the spread of the virus is for 95% mask use in indoor spaces and when social distancing can not be maintained. We ask that Shawnee County implement mandatory mask wearing by employees and consumers in all indoor spaces.
