Instead of the Margaret River High School expanding by bull-dozing the Margaret River Organic Garden, the community would like a win/win solution.  We love our town, which is rapidly growing, and we are proud of our High School.  We understand with the growth of the town, the High School needs to expand.

A win/win for our community would be an overall plan to enable the necessary expansion of our MR High School by an environmentally sensitive architect incorporating our 30 year old sustainable, mature, magical Organic Garden.

Our Organic Garden is a community asset for our town and for many visitors to our town.  It is used by more than 8000 people every year.

It has impact on:  Health - it actively enables social interaction, exercise, yoga, performances, tai chi, physical/mental disability respite, gardening, celebrations and general community interactions.  Education - it is a living and breathing green classroom! - it actively enables people to participate in art, photography, music, nature play groups and other play groups.  Environment - it actively enables exposure and learning around horticulture, permaculture, sustainability and practicing all of these.  Tourism - it is visited by state national and international tourists and delegations.  It is documented in three gardening books and has been featured in a number of national travel magazines.
