We welcome the recent increases to BC disability rates...

Still, there are many poor people with disabilities in BC who aren't even eligible for provincial disability benefits. People with disabilities on income assistance, CPP, LTD, in low paid employment, and others who are married and entirely dependent upon a spouse or common-law partner.

Poverty reduction strategies for BC's poor and disabled need to be targeted to help all poor and disabled British Columbians. The disabled are over 14% of BC's population... and we are painfully aware of the suffering caused by our ongoing marginalization and poor government policies.

BC's disabled need medical / physical support services to remain healthy... services that they can not afford. Such as physiotherapy, dental, and non-income tested recreational service.

We know that "If there is no struggle, there is no progress." Let's make progress together. .
