This contaminated water also drains into Collins Weir on the Walsh River and irrigates crops of mangoes, lychees, avocadoes, etc. So it's impact could be even more widespread.

Industry should not be allowed to totally destroy the area then walk away. We need police action but the government says no.

Clean water is a priority, given that we are poisoning all our water sources. Rehabilitation needs to have primary focus from now on. Water IS Life.

Mines do not need to be constructed at any places where they’d cause problems for the wildlife in those areas, there’s tonnes of well known mines around the world that are like that already in fact with where they are.

I am signing this petition because I am sick of mining companies big and small destroying the environment/countryside and avoiding responsibility for the clean-up and rehabilitation they initially agreed to on obtaining the licence to mine. These mining companies walk away with the profits and leave the local communities to suffer the consequences and the tax payer to pick up the bill for rehabilitation.
