I am an Iraq Vet that started a petition to save Ann Curry's job as Co-Host of Today. The last thing I wanted was for my efforts to hurt Ann Curry or her career. I simply wanted to voice my support and rally her fans so we may be heard by NBC. That never happened. NBC didn't care.
They ended up accomplishing the very things I was trying to avoid. They fired Ann Curry as Co-Host and deeply hurt her feelings on National Television. I can't tell you how much it hurt me to see Ann Curry literally heart broken. I felt like she was going through a nightmare, that she never could have imagined as real. But it was real, I am very sorry to say.
I am also learning that I am not alone.
Shame on NBC Universal! They need to realize how much they have hurt Ann Curry and her fans!
It is important because many TV personalities are in our homes everyday. In time they become part of our family.
Ann Curry has a lot of family out there and they really love her!
Young and old, her fans have been deeply hurt by NBC's callous firing of Ann Curry as a Co-Host from the Today Show as a retaliatory strike in the ratings war with ABC's Good Morning America.
This move has now affected the viewing audience. They have now dragged Ann Curry's fans into this conflict, creating countless emotionally distraught viewers in the process.
These are not just Ratings Numbers we are talking about, but real people with emotions and feelings.
This is an example of extremely irresponsible Broadcasting Management. It should be considered at the very least a violation of industry ethics.
NBC should really take this to heart, if they at all have one.
For this, I will now be a fan of ABC's Good Morning America.
