Petition update

Make your voice heard on November 7th

Nov 5, 2017 — Shaker for Sanctuary supporters -

On April 24, Shaker Heights City Council voted down a resolution that opposed using Shaker's police force to support or enforce Federal immigration policies (link attached). The measure lost by a vote of 4-3.

As you head to the polls on Tuesday, keep in mind that three of the candidates running voted for and/or actively advocated for this resolution:

- Tres Roeder (sponsored the resolution and voted for)
- Anne Williams (voted for)
- Sarah Megenhardt (actively advocated for)

Rob Zimmerman, also up for re-election, vocally and aggressively opposed this resolution.

If you still believe that Shaker Heights police should (1) not ask for immigration status, (2) not honor warrentless Federal immigration detainers, and (3) not act as Federal immigration agents, please make your voice heard on November 7th.

This petition endorses Roeder, Williams, and Megenhardt.
