Shadelle Whelan started this petition to Shadelle's Professional Dog Grooming Salon

I would like to be able to reopen my salon one dog at a time , with all the proper restrictions and social distancing in place. I will wear a mask , gloves, protective clothing and a face visor whilst working and will practise a high level of cleanliness and sanitising at all times. There will be no human contact as I will ask you all to put your pet in a crate without a collar or lead and close the crate, you can then leave and I will get your pet from the crate and bring them to the salon. I’ll start by giving them a warm sudsy bath to ensure they are fully cleansed and then I’ll proceed with their groom. On collection the same procedure will apply , with the dog being put in the crate , And you can then proceed to collect your pet  in a safe distance with no contact. With the weather getting warmer and some dogs with a heavy or matted coat they are likely to be warm and uncomfortable. Dog grooming should be seen as an essential part of a dogs welfare, and not as a luxury. Grooming maintains a healthy coat and skin. Regular nail trims not only help keep the nails short but helps reinforce healthy foot structure and posture, and reduces the risk of infection. Regular visits may result in early detection of issues with ears, skin, teeth and more. Unless regularly brushed and properly groomed, many long-haired dogs can become horribly matted. Without treatment, these mats can be painful because they pull on the underlying skin, and can lead to sores and skin infections. ... so I would like to hopefully reopen soon to help these dogs feel more comfortable.
