Jaden Ackerman started this petition to SGA and

Eating ought to be allowed in the student common room.

Reasoning:

The Emerson bubble has been established which means that not allowing students to eat together, a common form of bonding, forces them to meet for food off campus where they are most likely to get COVID-19.

Student common rooms have high ceilings which allows for high quality air circulation, similar to the circulation one would experience eating outside. Because the current temperature in Boston is inhospitable and prevents students from dining outside, allowing students to eat in the commons provides a safe alternative to eating inside cramped dining spaces that increase the likelihood of contracting COVID.

Student occupancy regulations ought to be changed so that there can be four students in “doubles” regardless of how many residents live in the room.

Reasoning:

If only one person lives in a “double” then having three guests follows the same logic as having one guest per person if two people live in that dorm. The end result is four people occupying the space either way.
