SFGH/SFDPH STAFF DESERVE COMPENSATION! STAFF DESERVE CRISIS PAY & INCENTIVE TO STAY!!
The SFDPH has been chronically poorly staffed. We have been functioning under budget for years. Our capacity is minuscule compared to similar medical centers. The quality of care we are capable of providing is decreasing, which increases our distress (we always want to take pride in the care we provide); thus, the intensity of burnout, turnover, loss of valuable public monies, all increase.
Currently, we are experiencing a massive shift and loss in labor; we are losing staff at rates far faster than we can replace them, to situations offering incentives and/or better working conditions.
Those who have continued to dedicate themselves to SFGH/SFDPH must be compensated! The money being dumped into temporary staff, is a temporary fix. Give it to the regular, dedicated workers of SFDPH.
We also want to highlight that HR and our hiring process needs to oversight! And give genuine efforts to fill positions as rapidly as possible. Stop over complicating!
