Support Housing on Divisadero

For those not fortunate to own their own homes, there is a housing affordability crisis that is gripping the Bay Area, caused by a growing demand for a small number of available apartments. The solution is to build more housing!
Every neighborhood in the city should be building more housing, including the lower Haight, to add more to the desperately needed housing supply and stop the displacement of those that can't afford to live here anymore.
We are neighbors that say YES to more housing and NO to proposals that scrap these projects or reduce the number of proposed apartments.
Specifically, we support two projects on Divisadero that should be built to the maximum height allowed under current zoning:
- 650 Divisidero (current site of a defunct auto repair shop),
- 400 Divisadero (current site of a gas station and car wash),
Both of these projects will provide much-needed housing without causing displacement. Down-sizing these projects mean that fewer people can live here. We say YES to more.
We also support maximizing housing to current zoning at 730 Stanyan (current site of a McDonald's),100% affordable housing project! The link to that petition is at https://www.change.org/p/support-subsidized-affordable-housing-in-the-haight
