San Francisco's Small Businesses are barely hanging on.

On Tuesday, September 22, 2020, two Ordinances co-sponsored by San Francisco Supervisors Aaron Peskin and Dean Preston will be discussed. One is to pass an Emergency Ordinance to temporarily restrict landlords from evicting commercial tenants for non-payment of rent that was not paid due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The other is to amend the Administrative Code to support the Emergency Ordinance.

The Ordinances are essential. San Francisco is composed of merchants who own small businesses in every single inch of our City. We are a city that prides ourselves on our unique and diverse business community. These businesses put their heart and soul into their stores. It is their life. Please help us retain this important and vital aspect of what makes us “The City”.

Ultimately, we request the following changes to the Ordinances:

(1) do not allow landlords to charge late charges or default interest on rent not paid during the moratorium, and

(2) give tenants at least one year after the emergency order is lifted to repay any rent deferred.

We ask for your support and leadership in all of this!

PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO DONATE, WE ASK INSTEAD THAT YOU SHARE AND POST to YOUR CONTACTS!
