0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
Whereas, African Americans living in San Francisco have decreased from 96,000 to approximately 14,000 in 2016;
Whereas, the Census Bureau information clearly shows a disturbing reduction in San Francisco's African American population;
Whereas, San Francisco leads the Country in African American Employment Disparity;
Whereas, African American's are 3 times likely to be murdered than whites;
We hereby urge The Mayor and BOS to declare African Americans in San Francisco an Endangered Population according to the 1973- Endangered Species Act. We urge you to make this declaration and provide emergency strategies for retention, resiliency and sustainability for the African American population. Inclusive of all African Americans but priority given to Native San Franciscans, and African Americans who have been in San Francisco 25+ years.
