Dear head of the Sex Education department

Hello, we are students of AKA,M and we have a service Learning project in which you are involved. This project is meant to assist the AKAM community (Year 5’s), the project is about sex education, we assume that the school needs to provide lessons. We need your permission as you are the head of that department. We need your help getting permission to initiate this project all the way up to Mrs. Allison as she needs to further help us. 

In our opinion the lack of sex education is a big issue in our academy because, In this school, we had a puberty talk in year 5, however, I don’t feel that it’s enough as we only covered the menstrual cycle, which yes is important to cover however the only type of  “sex education” we got was the fact that our hymen (Our = female anatomy) breaks after we have sex for the first time. This is not substantial information as sex is a very taboo topic and I think a lot of parents also did not want their children to learn about such topics, in this day and age they are still old-fashioned and closed-minded. That’s why we need your support and help to solve the problem of AKAM and make the education system better for the students.
