Today (March 4th, 2021), Sewanee Campus Activities sent out an email lowering the just given 100 person gathering size to 10 people. Not only is this a ridiculous restriction but a poor judgement of the Sewanee student body's ability to remain safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. Student's have successfully tested negative over the past month and, despite violations of minor policies this weekend, have still tested negative this past week. The administration has chosen to ignore students' mental health and their capability to host events with larger gathering sizes. Please sign this petition to address the Sewanee administration's decision and suggest they to reconsider the gathering size.
