I want my nieces to experience college to its fullest. It is safe for these kids to meet and compete in sports and extracurricular activities. Science has shown that the youth generally get mild symptoms of Covid just like the regular flu. We have never closed campuses down during flu season! Let the kids get back to a normal life!

While I think the school has been proactive in protecting “the bubble” they have taken things too far. With more people being vaccinated restrictions should be lifted not tightened!

Tired of this being a college with the discipline of a middle-school.

There is no logical basis for this new rule. Why should the infractions of a few people impact the other 1500 students who did not violate the rules. Also this is supposedly a rule based on a 'serious and immediate health risk to the student body and faculty.' No one has tested positive for COVID in four weeks. That is because we have all followed the Sewanee bubble diligently for a year and a half. It seems that this motivation is nothing more than a power grab. A power grab by a bunch of people in the Deans Office who want to feel important and bolster their resumes. That's great. Have fun recruiting kids next year and enjoy the wrath of 10 thousand parents. When prospective students ask me about applying to Sewanee I tell them not to, and I have been for the last several months. Specifically, because of the Deans Office. We are not 11 year olds, we have common sense, and we have the ability to make decisions about our own health and wellbeing better than y'all.

I didn't come to Sewanee to live at a daycare.

These students are being very responsible getting tested weekly. Maybe the administration should have considered opening up to 100 people for Bid day to reward them. It seems as though they were just trying to make sure bid day did not take place. You should put someone in charge of Greek life that actually enjoys it.

Respectfully, it is arbitrary and capricious to punitively reimpose a measure originally implemented solely for health reasons when the health risk “in the bubble” has been reduced to virtually zero. Are there any mature, responsible adults left at Sewanee advising the administration regarding the potential irreparable damage being done here? Psych department, have you no conscience? Using a safety measure in such a punitive manner is irresponsible and an injustice to an entire population of students who have tried very hard to comply with restrictions that are so contrary to human nature. Rules for thee, but not for me. The social contract never consented to use of a health measure in a punitive manner.

It’s time to let Sewanee students have a normal college experience or I predict enrollment will drop next year. The hypocrisy of allowing prospective student tours is laughable.
