Exercising at the pavilion outside Cape Royale Sentosa

Exercising at the pavilion outside Cape Royale Sentosa
Covid 19 has provided several challenges for those living in Singapore with borders closed and several rounds of heightened restrictions. With many people working and children schooling from home compared to before, having not seen family and friends for months, ensuring both physical and mental health is critical. The ability to exercise freely, in convenient, pleasant, safe surroundings without traffic, sheltered from the weather elements, close to home and in nature has become an important factor to ensuring physical and mental well-being.
Despite several requests for meetings with Sentosa Cove Resort Management, unilateral decisions restricting the use of and banning exercise equipment in the pavilion and the surrounding area outside Cape Royale have been made with neither discussion nor consultation with a majority of those who use the pavilion to exercise on a daily basis.
We believe in respecting the voices of all residents concerned who use the pavilion and coming to a common agreement on the use of this pavilion and surrounding grounds. We therefore disagree with Sentosa Cove Resort Management notices that are being put up banning the use of exercise equipment in this area. Equipment goes hand in hand with most exercises so excluding one will no doubt exclude the other.
The pavilion area is a common shared space so let us use it respecting the wishes of all those who use it to promote health and overall wellbeing during these challenging times.
