Why this petition matters

In the Senior Parking Lot at West Linn High School, there are no signs which depict that the lot is for seniors who have designated parking passes for the lot. Because of this, parents and visitors don't know that it is a reserved lot. This is not their fault (considering that it's marked as just a "parking lot"), but it causes many issues for students, visitors, and admin. Often, various seniors have arrived at their spots to see a car parked in their reserved spot, which that student/their family has paid for access to.

The Senior Lot needs to have signs, at least at the entrance, if not in multiple places throughout the parking lot to avoid these problems. Again, it causes issues for students, visitors, and admin. Here's how it effects each group:

Students: Students who have assigned spots in the senior lot arrive at school to see that their parking spots are filled by parents, visitors, and substitute faculty, which makes them late to class. It shouldn't be something we have to deal with, considering we pay for the spots to be assigned to us and for them to be available when we need them during the school day. Parents/guardians who drop their kids off/pick their kids up before and after school or during the day clog the senior lot and disrupt the flow of traffic. This can make it take around 10-20 minutes just to exit the parking lot at the end of the school day.

Parents & Visitors: Parents and visitors who park in the senior lot aren't at fault, simply because they don't know better. This could easily be solved by signs in the senior lot, redirecting these cars to appropriate drop-off/pick-up areas, or the visitor parking lot if they are planning on entering the school.

Admin: Putting signs in the senior lot would help the admin out because it would solve many problems, which the admin currently has to deal with. Signs would avoid problems and make the admin's morning easier by eliminating complaints from students who can't park in their parking spot, and end up complaining to the office and being tardy to their teacher's classes.

These are valid points which would greatly improve ease of parking in the senior lot and make mornings/afternoons much less stressful for the students, visitors, and admin. I hope you'll consider signing this petition to get signs in the senior lot.
