My name is Jacob Lesner-Buxton and I am a disability rights advocate from Santa Barbara. In my job, I work in the community to try to address the stigmas people with disabilities face every day.

On the night of December 2nd. , I got attacked walking home by a man who was failed by our society's lack of compassion and care. The good news is I'm ok. and the man was arrested.

Currently, there is a bill in the Senate called the Build Better Act that would invest billions in our social safety net. The bad news is we have two Democrat senators (Senator Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema) who think that pleasing their funders is more important than working for the good of the American people
I would like to tell the senators and those that give them millions of bucks, my story and ask them if they care about me and see what they say. If they don't care  about people like me, they should have the guts to tell it to my face.
The reason I am able to live independently and have a job I love is because of support from taxpayers.
