Victory

Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is ranked as the third highest revenue earner for the Government. But not until the introduction of Senate Bill 3178, which seeks to privatize the former. The bill is authored by Senator Ralph Recto and backed by Senator Koko Pimentel as the Chairman of the Committee on Games and Amusement. Once it becomes a law the state is in danger of losing billions of remittances which it now enjoys.

Now on its third reading, 12 thousand strong workforce are about to be retrenched including this representation. I have a strong feeling that the bill is being fast tracked and that it is being concealed from the public. I do not think that the privatization move will be favorable to the Philippine Government.

I have sought help from the mainstream media, both TV and print, several times but to no avail. Now, I only have social media as my last resort to preserve Pagcor and the security of tenure of its employees.

I now appeal before you netizens and fellow Pagcorians to join me in this campaign.

Junk Senate Bill 3178, Stop Pagcor Privatization!

Letter to
Senators Ralph Recto and Koko Pimentel
