Senator Ernst: Make Mental Health Your Priority

Beginning in 2020, the American Health Care Act of 2017, better known as "Trumpcare," would eliminate an Affordable Care Act requirement that Medicaid cover basic mental health, substance abuse, and behavioral health services in states that expanded it, allowing each state to decide whether or not to include those benefits in Medicaid plans.
Experts estimate that 11 Million Americans currently have coverage for mental health and substance use disorders, provided at parity (at equal extent and cost) with coverage for general medical services through Medicaid expansion plans.
If the "Trumpcare" bill is passed with this repeal of Medicaid expansion, these 11 Million Americans will be in jeopardy of losing the essential mental healthcare coverage that they desperately need and could not afford on their own.
Please sign this petition Urging Senator Joni Ernst to fight against this heartless repeal of Medicaid Expansion.
I will be personally hand-delivering this petition to Senator Ernst on June 1st, when I meet with her to discuss mental health in Iowa and the U.S.
