We have just witnessed one of America's greatest moral failures of recent history. Every step of our evacuation has been a complete and total disaster, and now Biden is taking his victory laps while 200 Americans have been left behind to the mercy of the Taliban and Isis! The President routinely ignored the advice of his own generals, the State Department, and the CIA, seeking to score a political victory at the expense of American citizens and Afghan refugees. He pulled our troops from vital military bases, including Baghram, in the middle of the night without alerting the Afghans. The Afghan's simply woke up in the morning, and we, along with their weapons, were gone. The Taliban have brought back the institutions of child marriage and the sexual slavery of women. Public execution of prisoners and torture have become common place. LGBTQ+ Afghans are being haled to religious courts and will almost certainly be executed. Worst of all, we now know that the Biden administration has inadvertently given the Taliban the identities of every single Afghan who aided the U.S, essentially signing their death warrants. These are just SOME examples of Biden's continuous and deadly failures, and he has the gall to say the Afghans and civilians should've put up more of a fight when he gave up and left thousands of Americans and Afghans alike behind. Congress must act and hold Biden accountable for his deadly errors, investigations must immediately take place and punishments for sure, and if we as a nation don't hold the administration to account, then the blood is on ALL of our hands.
