The National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC) is a database of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and related documents. It is maintained by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

As indicated by its title, this site provides evidence-based practice guidelines free of charge to health care providers and the public alike.  Its purpose is to improve health outcomes by publishing best practices. One example from the thousands of guidelines is "Aspirin use in the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease and colorectal cancer."

Not only is the website important for healthcare providers, it is also a critical resource in the education of students in all of the health disciplines. The NGC database will no longer be available after July 16, 2018 due to cuts in the AHRQ budget.

Please reinstate the funding to preserve this critical practice resource.
