Proper Ventilation of TFW Bathrooms

Top Floor Whitehead is one of the largest floors of the college, but excluding the window in the small kitchen at one end of the corridor has no ventilation for fresh air to circulate. This has become a particular issue in terms of the smell coming from the bathroom. The bathroom itself has no way of ventilating itself and properly circulating air into and out of the ablution facilities. This has resulted, in at times, an unbearable smell circulating through out the corridor.

We believe this has to change for three key reasons:

1) TFW is one of the most populous floors in the college and as such having poor ventilation increases the risk for coughs, colds and other diseases to take hold at a much faster rate, not just of residents of TFW but of the whole college.

2) TFW is a frequent showcase of the college with its newly renovated rooms been shown off to students. Tour guides have frequently commented that prospective students have complained about the smell, which is most embarrassing

3) Mental health and general wellness of student principles should be taken into consideration with the smell and poor ventilation effecting the physical and psychological aspects of the students lives
