My son, 13 years old who is doing decently well in academics and has scored good in NAPLAN is not eligible for Selective school because we are not a PR or a Citizen of Australia yet. An opportunity to exceed well and shape his future has been denied because we dont have a piece of paper. Education is a right of every aspiring kid and the Visa rules shudnt be a barrier towards education. You must check the aptitude instead of Visa number. The child isnt at fault if the immigration rules are not favourable to international arrivals fighting to get their permanent residency for years. The kids must get a chance to compete irrespective of the VISA condition. I appeal for the abolishment of Visa conditions being a deterrent factor for a child's admission to a Selective School
